Eligibility Requirements
– Applicant must be a United States Citizen or permanent resident of the United States
– Applicant must be Coptic Egyptian
– Applicant must be a third-year or fourth-year undergrad student who is applying to but not enrolled in graduate school.
– Applicant must maintain an average GPA 3.4 on 4.0 scale.
– Applicant must have an MCAT score above 503 if applying to medical school.
– Applicant must have a DAT schore above 17 if applying to dental school.
– Scores regarding other health professions should be included in the application and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Deadlines and Notifications
– Application materials will be accepted twice a year starting July 1st and December 1st. Deadlines are September 30th for July applicants and March 30th for December applicants.
– Notifications will be mailed to award recipients no later than 30 days following the deadline.
Applicant must submit the following.
– A completed application form.
– Two reference letters. Academic letter from applicant’s undergrad school attesting his/her academic stand and potential as a future healthcare professional. A personal letter from persons other than family attesting personal character, integrity, and humanistic quality.
– A typed essay of up to 500 words on one of the following topics:
– Applicant’s vision of the future of the Coptic Medical Association of North America and how to carry its goals.
– How could the applicant make a difference in your local Coptic community?
– Provide a philanthropic plan or a project that could promote Coptic medical missions.
Scholarship Details
The scholarship worth $1000 will apply to the second semester of the first year of medical school. The scholarship check will be made payable to the graduate school.
