A Nation of Natural Splendor Natural Splendor and Growing Potential

ABOUT ZAMBIA

A Nation of Ancient Wonders and Modern Needs.

Zambia, a peaceful landlocked nation in Southern Africa, is known for its breathtaking landscapes, including the world-famous Victoria Falls, wide savannas, and rich wildlife reserves. Beyond these natural treasures lies a young and rapidly growing population with diverse needs and aspirations. Zambians represent many ethnic groups and languages, with most people identifying as Christian while also honoring deep-rooted cultural traditions.

From the thunder of Mosi-oa-Tunya (Victoria Falls) to the bustling streets of Lusaka and the mining towns of the Copperbelt, community life is shaped by strong family ties, vibrant markets, and resilient rural villages. It is within this dynamic context that CMANA serves, partnering with local leaders to address critical health challenges, expand access to care, and support the nation’s journey toward a healthier future.

FAITH & HERITAGE

The Apostolic Roots of the Coptic Church in Zambia.

In Zambia, the Coptic Orthodox Church carries the same apostolic faith that has been handed down through centuries in Egypt and throughout the world. Parishes and mission communities gather around the altar, finding strength in the liturgy and a call to serve Christ in the poor, the sick, and the overlooked.

CMANA’s presence in Zambia flows directly from this calling. Medical teams work in cooperation with Coptic churches, local clergy, and community volunteers, offering care that treats body, mind, and spirit together. Every clinic day, hospital round, and home visit is understood as part of the Church’s wider mission of love and reconciliation.

OUR HISTORY

A Legacy of Partnership in Zambia.

CMANA’s work in Zambia grew out of invitations from local Coptic leaders and healthcare partners who saw the need for additional medical support and training. From the beginning, the focus has been collaborative: listening to local priorities, supporting existing hospitals and clinics, and strengthening services that will remain long after each mission team returns home.

Over the years, CMANA volunteers have provided outpatient clinics, surgical support, and education for doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals. Preventive care, chronic disease management, and compassionate bedside presence all come together as expressions of one unified commitment—to stand with the Church in Zambia as it serves its people and to help build a sustainable, Christ-centered model of healthcare for the future.
